Summary

As a member of the Promotions Team, the Promotions Associate is responsible for putting up the weekly in-store promotions (labelled, full, and impactful) and ensuring that the feature area(s) have a good combination of seasonally relevant and 300 deal merchandise, in-store specials, impulse items and regular merchandise. 

Responsibilities and Tasks

Customer Service

  • Delivers an excellent customer experience.
  • Follows store policies and procedures that delivers a high quality customer experience.
  • Display appropriate customer service behaviours.
  • Works as a team with other departments to provide an excellent customer experience.

Operations

  • Maintains quality presentation (e.g., number of holes, labels, top shelf storage, rain check posted for out of stock items, deadlines of seasonal changeovers, cleanliness, facing, fixtures are stored away when not in use, etc.).
  • Consistently working on projects on the floor while being visible and available for customers.
  • Follows a weekly plan for current and upcoming deals.
  • Executes the weekly deals and ensures that promotional items are placed and priced appropriately in the feature areas.
  • Identifies location of all promotional products in the feature area and marks location on a flyer.
  • Tops up and faces feature areas in order to get them ready for business before the store closes.
  • Maintains the presentation of the feature ends, side panels and platform displays by replenishing as required to maximize sales and profits.
  • Remains compliant with company, store and department policies, as well as health and safety programs and regulations.
  • Completes the training required on time (including Canadian Tire University training).
  • Completes other tasks, as required.

Requirements

  • Basic math skills
  • Computer literate (social media, e-mail, portal, etc.).
  • Experience in retail sales, execution and operations is an asset.
  • Good working knowledge of department products and functions is an asset.
  • Experience in a Canadian Tire store is considered an asset.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

In compliance with the store's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures:

  • Standing/walking for 8 hours.
  • Lifting and/or carrying of merchandise items, as required, on a regular, frequent and unassisted basis. Merchandise items may vary in weight from "light" to "heavy".
  • Lifting and turning repeatedly throughout the shift. 
  • Lifting above the shoulder, from floor to shoulder and floor to waist. 
  • Walking and carrying at the same time and pushing/pulling as required. 
  • Twisting, turning, reaching and working above shoulder level.
